Type B appliances are commonly found in industrial sites and require third party certification and approval before being put into service. The Gas Safety Act defines a Type B appliance as an appliance with gas consumption in excess of 10MJ/h.
Any engine to be fuelled by gas (LPG/NG) including equipment manufactured in Australia is required to be certified and installed by a licensed approved person and must meet the relevant standards for that State. Any imported gas fuelled engines must also comply with Australian regulations and standards.
Sprint Gas is licensed and experienced to safely install, commission and service Type B gas devices such as stationary engines and generators used to provide back-up energy supply for industrial & commercial applications.
The certification process provides a series of inspections to ensure that they meet the safety requirements, relevant standards and all regulatory obligations before and at the time of installation, whereby hazards are identified and risks are assessed and managed.
